Chris pou

Chris Pou has been the Front of House mixer and Production Manager for Electric Avenue since 2018.

This Athens, GA native studied Music Composition Studies at Georgia College and State University. Although bass playing was his first music job, live sound production is his heart and talent. As the Technical Director/Production Manager for the University of Georgia (UGA) 2008-2019, Pou has managed or overseen 600+ events for the organization. This experience allows Electric Avenue to pivot seamlessly between creating the stadium style concert experience they are known for in both large venues and controlled corporate/private event spaces.

Chris pou

Kevin Spencer

Kevin Spencer is the lead vocalist/guitarist for and one of the founding members of Electric Avenue.

Raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, his music touring career started at age 17 as a soldier/drummer in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Pipes & Drums. By the age of 21, Kevin had completed tours through the US, CAN, UK, & Germany, with notable performances for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Royal family at the Deuchlande Halle in Berlin, Germany. 

A few friends who have enlisted his talents as a musician or composer: Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Rita Wilson, Lindsay Ell, Rymes With Orange, Mudgirl, Daughtry, Lilith Fair, RENT (as Roger Davis; 550 shows from 2001-2004), Little River Band, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, and he spent 5 years solely working for landmark producer/master musician, Daniel Lanois (U2, Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan).

He is married to his best friend of 22 years, Krystee Manifold Spencer, Emmy Award Winning Design Producer for HGTV, Netflix, and Magnolia Network. 

Spencer has composed, arranged, and produced 100+ jingles for US-based corporations. He has also appeared in The X-Files; The Chris Issak Show; and as himself in 11 MTV/MuchMusic videos, the NBC Movie Mother, May I Sleep With Danger with Tori Spelling, as well as the the 2022 Sony Pictures feature film Lyle Lyle Crocodile.

Tom Young

Tom Young is the bassist/vocalist for and one of the founding members of Electric Avenue.

Originally a native of the Portland, Maine music scene, Young continued his learning in Boston, achieving a Bachelor of Arts in music from Tufts University before settling into the Atlanta music community.

Young has contributed bass on such notable recordings as Candi Staton “Young Hearts Run Free” 2006 re-record (Warner Bros.), William Bell “This Is Where I Live” (Stax), and many other successful independent releases.

An eternal student of live performance and spontaneous creativity, Young has had the always good-natured good fortune of providing low end for many world class artists including: Donnie, India Arie, Heston, Joi, Roy Ayers, Tom Browne, Darien Brockington, Tommy Tilton, Sister Hazel, Ten Story Relapse, Julie Dexter, Days Ahead, and The Ede Wright Trio. Young also appears as himself in the 2022 Sony Pictures feature film Lyle Lyle Crocodile.

Interesting fact: Tom has twice as many fans as anyone else in the band.

Will Groth

Will Groth has been the drummer of Electric Avenue since 2016.

A Mankato, Minnesota native, Groth studied Creative Writing and Music Performance at Mankato State University, as well as Music Performance at Winona State University.

Notable tours or performances: Zac Brown Band support band 2013/2014 tour, Mindi Abair, Oliver Wood, Randall Bramblett, Tommy Talton, Ike Stubblefield, Grant Green Jr., Geoff Achison, Coy Bowles, John Driskell Hopkins, Rev. Jeff Mosier, Yonrico Scott, Kofi Burbridge, and Col. Bruce Hampton. Groth’s drumming has also been featured on 12 Oz. Mouse (Adult Swim).

Raised on the back of a motorcycle from age 5, it’s no surprise that when not on stage you can often find Groth and his musician wife piloting his 2007 Harley Davidson Street Bob across the country.

Shannon Pengelly

Shannon Pengelly is the lead guitarist/vocalist for and one of the founding members of Electric Avenue.

A descendant of entertainers, musicians and artists, his attendance at the Northside School Of the Arts in Atlanta immersed him in jazz performance, music theory, ear training and performance. He was the only freshman on their venerable “Tour Show”, a touring production highlighting the professional level talents of the elite performers in the arts program.

After completing programs at Berklee College Of Music (Boston) and Musician’s Institute (Atlanta-Now AIM), under the direction and encouragement of Steve Freeman and Jimmy Herring (Col. Hampton and the Aquarium Recuse Unit, The Dead, Jazz Is Dead, Widespread Panic), Shannon moved to Hollywood, CA to further his guitar studies with the likes of Scott Henderson, Paul Gilbert, Don Mock, Steve Travato, Frank Gamble, Carl Verheyen, and many others.

Returning to the Atlanta music scene, Shannon played in various original bands including Big Sky, a staple “Progressive-Art-Pop” band featuring some of the region’s most talented players, including singing phenom Sue Wilkinson and bassist Jerry Peek of The Steve Morse Band fame. 

During this time, Shannon jumped into studio work contributing guitars on such notable recordings as Boyz2Men Boyz2Men II (12x Multi Platinum certified), Another Bad Creation Coolin’ at the Playground (Platinum Certified), and Shanice 21… Ways to Grow (Gold certified).

In the 90’s Shannon moved to and lived in Manhattan for close to a decade where he managed The Zoo Studios facility, scoring and mixing for a multitude of NY based independent films and media productions.

Needing change from the NY environment and after the occurrence of 9/11, Shannon moved back to his home town of Atlanta where he continued to use his many talents both in and out of the studio producing 100+ jingles for US-based corporations, performing in original bands and diving head first into corporate-style cover bands. After many years of taking it in the ass from a certain 70’s “Boat” band, Shannon got the axe and pulled up anchor to head into the world of 80’s new wave and radio hits with the other hoodlums you see on this website.

Shannon is a non-drinking, vegetarian dad.

Eric Frampton

Eric Frampton is the keyboardist/vocalist for and one of the founding members of Electric Avenue.

An Atlanta native, Eric started playing and studying piano at age 5, at which time it was discovered he had perfect pitch. He went on to study music theory and composition at Erskine College before leaving early to go on the road.

Frampton has contributed keyboards on many notable recordings, co-written 6 musicals, and provided on-screen playback music for Sweet Home Alabama (2002) and Bam Bam and Celeste (2005). He has also composed and produced commercial music for for such clients as IBM, HGTV, Payments20, QVC, Cartoon Network, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Thrashers, Farm Rich, SeaPak, Delta Community Credit Union, and Moe’s.

A touring veteran, Frampton has completed national and world tours with B-52s, Billy Currington, Boston, Mother’s Finest, Lionel Richie, and Paul Simon.

Pinball aficionado, cabernet sauvignon explorer, poultry intolerant Dad.
